Thetis Island: Emergency Services

CVRD Cowichan Valley Regional District Sybille Sanderson, Protective Services Coordinator 250-746-2500,

https://www.cvrd.bc.ca/231/Emergency-Preparedness

ESS: Emergency Social Services for Thetis Island is a team of 8: Mary Forbes, Petra Accipiter, Bev Stuart, Dee Smith, Donna Stadt, Veronica Shelford, & Claire Hess. Trained to respond to a single home emergency or an island wide need for respite or registration for supports for housing, food or clothing.

LERN: Local Emergency Response Neighbourhoods

Thetis is divided into 26 LERN areas; each with a captain and back-up captain responsible for checking on their neighbourhood and letting the Fire Department know of the status, and someone on the ESS team know of a broader response is needed for community respite. A list of the ESS team and the LERN Captains are listed on http://www.thetisisland.net/emergency.htm
