The TIRRA executive has been gathering information in preparation for the May 30th SPECIAL MEETING at 3pm. One of the issues before us is to determine what level of volunteer commitment there MIGHT be to actually implement a Pest Management Plan if the membership decided to vote in favour of such a plan.
I suggested that a simple e-spokes poll could provide some sort of indication. Without going into too much detail, here is what is being asked:
Would you consider volunteering say two mornings a month for approx 4 months, (ie 8 times), during the spring/summer to participate in sampling for larvae and spreading a safe larvacide (Vectobac) in our attempt to better manage our significant mosquito population? Would you be likely to volunteer for a few years?
I will accept your reply by e-mail and any comments you may have. You might rather volunteer a morning every week if you feel strongly about the problem. The general response will be part of the May 30th meeting but no names will be given. It is also possible that the membership will not vote in favour of the Association being involved in mosquito mitigation.
It would be helpful to reply by noon on the 29th to:
with thanks,
