Hi All You Loving People,
Thank you for all your cards and good wishes and prayers, Gwen loves them all. She has her good days and bad ones. I'm hoping she has more good ones than bad ones. We are coping right now day by day. She is in a lot of pain, which I am trying to look after. We respectively ask that you do not call before noon, as that gives us time to get everything on an even keel as it were. As you probably know I have a lot on my plate right now so please bear with us. I'm hoping she is getting better. I will let you all know when she will entertain company.
Cheers
Don Hunter

Churches across the world are preparing for the Season of Advent ~ the period of time 4 Sundays before Christmas. Advent means “coming” or “arrival” as we anticipate the fulfillment of the prophesies regarding the promised Messiah and also the awaiting of the 2nd coming. It is a time of reflection about the amazing gift that God gave us in the person of his Son who came to live among us. It is also an opportunity to honour Jesus in his rightful place as the centre of our busy holiday season. Each Sunday we light a succession of 5 candles in the Advent wreath. The candles symbolize the light of God coming into the world thru the birth of his Son; the 4 coloured candles, the 4 centuries of waiting between the prophet Malachi and the birth of Christ. The pure, white, Christ candle is significantly placed in the centre…..just as He should be central in our lives.
This year we are very pleased to have Dan Rutherford, a pastor in Victoria, minister to our church for the Advent season. Church will meet for every Sunday except Dec. 9 from now until Christmas. Church service begins at 10 and everyone is most welcome to attend.

Please consider taking a few minutes this week if you are in Chemainus to stop by the Coastal Community Credit Union to take in the ART SHOW & ACTION from the Cherry Tree kids arts group and maybe even make a bid! Two Thetis Island children were among the artists aged 3-12 who created and donated original works for the show. The masterpieces were created in the studio and under the guidance of professional artist Philip Mix.
All proceeds go to Harvest House food bank and the effort is intended to teach our children the invaluable lesson of being grateful and giving. The event is organized by Cherry Tree Childcare in Chemainus where all participating artists currently or previously attended. The show runs all week till Friday during open hours. On Thursday from 3:30-5:00 there will be a reception with many of the artists attending.
Thanks for your support!

Our sincere condolences to the Gooding-Suiker family. Teddy was so loved on Thetis, and while in practice in Duncan, practitioner to many of us.

Following our mass 'flu vaccination session, are there any dog and or cat owners requiring vaccination boosters in December, or are overdue and would like their animals brought up to date?
I am considering a 'vaccinationathon' in December and would be happy to visit 'at home'.

Wanted: The Wall Hanging in the hall needs cleaning. We need people to come and clean it. If you know anything about cleaning this Wall Hanging please contact Gloria quack@telus.net or 250-246-3091. If this is not done on a yearly basis we will have to look at an alternative idea.
