West Isle Heating is coming to Thetis Island on Friday March 5th to service my heating system. If anyone else could use their services that day we could share the expense for travel time from Duncan and ferry fares.
Call West Isle to make an appointment and me to share expenses.

We are looking to buy a piece of greenhouse shade cloth about 4 feet by 8 feet.
If anyone in the community has a piece they are willing to part with it would make it simpler for us.
Thank you.

The Rotary Heart of Gold Auction competed Saturday night with a Zoom “Show” and live auction. We have raised $36,000 – over our goal. It is short of a normal year’s income but enough to continue supporting the Pregnancy Food Connection program, providing healthy food to expectant mother; The Dolly Parton Literacy Program sending out 130 books a month to children without books in their homes; the Student of the Month program encouraging our youth and other programs.
Your generosity, with donations of cash and item, bidding and more important moral support is appreciated.
The Rotary Club of Duncan is a group of your friends and neighbors who want to “make a difference” in our community. The projects and initiatives are the ideas of our members who find in Rotary kindred spirits to support their initiative. If you see community issues you think should be addressed or want to help with those we are involved with, please join us by contacting our Membership Chairperson, Elly Ruge, at ellyruge@gmail.com.

We have had several interested community members already contact us about taking the Provincial training and forming a pre-wildfire SPU Auxiliary Team. The Office of the Fire Commissioner is sending the SPU Trainer to Thetis for the 2-day course on June 5 - 6. The fire department will be supplying lunch for the attendees.
Please contact Fire Chief Jeannine Caldbeck or ID Trustee Graeme Shelford if you have any questions or wish to join the team. No prior experience is necessary. You will learn how to protect structures with sprinkler systems in advance of a wildfire front.

Heading to the ferry Wednesday morning just as the sun was starting to rise we passed a couple of joggers.
They were wearing dark clothing and on the other side of the road (given our narrow roads that was probably safer).
Please, please, please wear reflective clothing if you're planning on running when it's still dark. Even though we are driving relatively slowly, you are barely visible to us!

If anyone is going to be in the vicinity of Island Blue on Fort Street on Friday, and could pick up the Spring issue of the Thetis Island Quarterly, that would be wonderful!
Please let me know if you can do it - veronicashelford@gmail.com or 250-246-1509.
Thanks in advance to any who offer!
