Kudos to Frankels & friends...

for investigating and then exhaustively extinguishing a smouldering campfire on Ragged Islet today.  I would like to remind everyone to report issues such as this to the Coastal Fire Centre - Cobble Hill Base at 1-250-743-1304 even though you may have extinguished the fire.  They track these "near-misses" too.  They need eyes on the non-resident islands, and as we boat around our backyard, please keep vigilant and report all abandoned smouldering campfires etc.  They have a helicopter sitting on the pad at Cobble Hill for just this sort of response. In the Ragged Islet case they didn't need to go and check it out because the Frankels & Friends did such a great bucketing job.

To report wildfires on other islands: 1-800-663-5555 or *5555 from a cellular phone

But if you can't remember that, call 911 and explain where you are and what you see.
