Pillow Case Project
Friday, March 29, 2013 at 10:03PM A number of Thetis Island ladies belong to the Dogwood Trefoil Guild (Chemainus/Ladysmith/Saltair/Thetis). We are a group of former Girl Guide/Girl Scout Leaders. Currently we are involved in a project with 8 Chemainus Pathfinder Girl Guides making dresses for use in warm 3rd World Countries or other poor areas. Our Girl Guides will learn to sew and discover more facts about the dreadful plight of young girls in poor circumstances; and those girls will receive attractive dresses made from floral, patterned or brightly coloured pillow cases!
Do you have a few gently used pillow cases to donate? We also need double faced bias tape, pins, narrow elastic and decorative buttons. Rick-Rack and lace would also be great for decoration! An opportunity to clean out the sewing box, eh?
