Notice of Project Work Thetis Island Terminal

BC Ferries Service Notice regarding night work at the terminal and late-night sailing cancellations:

As part of our ongoing commitment to ensure the safe operation of our terminal facilities, we will be carrying out construction work at the Preedy Harbour terminal to maintain safe and reliable operation of the berth. The first phase of work, currently underway, is expected to be completed October 20, with the second phase anticipated October 21 – early November.

During this second phase, to ensure the timely completion of the project and to minimize impacts to service, night work will be required and is expected to take place between 10:00 pm and 5:30 am. Nearby neighbours may notice an increase in sound levels during this time; however, our teams will make every effort to minimize noise disruptions. In addition, the final regularly scheduled sailing to Thetis Island will be cancelled on select days. Cancelled Sailings October 21 - November 1, 2024, Monday to Thursday: 10:30 pm departing Chemainus Fridays: 10:50 pm departing Chemainus Final Opportunity to Sail to Thetis Island Monday to Thursday: 8:55 pm departing Chemainus Fridays: 9:05 pm departing Chemainus.

Service to Penelakut on the above sailings and weekend schedules will remain unchanged. Drivers and customers are asked to follow the direction of staff and signage and are encouraged to arrive at the terminal early for their desired sailing. We thank our customers and neighbours for their patience and understanding as we complete this necessary work.
