The cozy island library is open Saturday 10-1, Sunday 1-4 and Monday 10-1. I have noticed a few items have been out a long time. Maybe it is time to look around for library materials that could be returned.
Celine…
The Goosey Gander Shop will be closed Saturday & Sunday
I apologize for the short notice and wish you a happy weekend too.
Thank you,

SOAS wishes to announce that our fundraiser A Night on the Fringe has been
postponed until November 15. September is a very busy month for everyone,
so many people were unavailable.
So-change your calendar to this new date: November 15 A Night on the Fringe.
Thanks
Maureen
Does anyone have a weighted blanket they would be willing to lend out for a trial period to see if it helps a young person achieve a longer or more restful sleep?
Just a week or two to see if it is a worthwhile investment.
We would protect it in a duvet cover.

Come say hi to Rena at the corner of Pilkey Point Road (114) and Clam Bay.
I have sent the following question to our Islands Trust elected officials, Tobi Elliot, Ken Hunter, and Peter Luckham, and to our CVRD Area G elected official, Jesse McClinton:
“The Phase 2 Taxation Report has been posted to Thetis Blog - Front Page (thetisposts.ca), right hand side of page.
From this report, will you commit to cap Islands Trust and CVRD’s 2025 Budget and 2025 Taxes at 3%? (3% is the top of the 1 to 3% range for the Bank of Canada’s inflation control target). Yes or No?”
I regret that I will not be able to attend the Sept. 23 Thetis Island Assembly to discuss the results.

The bench by the slough is now firmly in place beside the sign which relates the significance of this area.
A huge Thank You to the Challenger family for donating the bench and the form for creating the foundation and to Ron Vandergaag and Frank English for laying the foundation and securing the bench in place.

The Fire Danger Class will be moving up to HIGH on Saturday.
This means that High Hazard Activities near forested areas must cease by 1 pm and a 2 hour fire watch posted to 3 pm.
We hope that this will not be too lengthy a HIGH HAZARD period and we can all get back to full days of sawing our winter firewood etc.
Evening campfires with a permit are still allowed.
If you see smoke in the daytime, call 911.
