Dear Islanders,
Our community's trails are for everyone:
---the young, the old
---the speedy, the slow
---dog walkers, birdwatchers
---anyone on a stroll.
So that all can enjoy, please be kind, when encountering others on the trails:
Maintain social distance: at least 6 feet from anyone not in your personal "bubble".
Give younger, older, or slower folks time to find a safe distance (6') to the side of the trail.
Step a safe distance (6') to the side to let others past.
No one can know the health status of someone else by looking at them. Any trail walker may be taking immuno-suppressive or other medications, or have a disorder, or be a symptom-free carrier, or not be vaccinated.
COVID is an airborne virus. Outdoors is safer than indoors, but it's not risk free.
Social distancing keeps everyone in our community safe and gives everyone the freedom to enjoy all our community has to offer.
During this long weekend, and throughout the summer, please remind your off-island guests and camp visitors of the importance of social distancing when out and about.
Thetis is a community because we respect each other and take care of each other, even when we hold different views.
Stay safe and well, be kind, and have a lovely summer.
Thank you,
Virginia & Jonathan
