Do you have some cardboard waiting to go into recycle? Or maybe some magazines sitting around? St.Margaret’s Cemetery needs these as a barrier before putting mulch down.

All a part of the last leg of the split rail fencing going in at the cemetery.

Moving to Thetis

Hi everyone, 

We’re the Russells, a family of 7 community-minded folks who are looking to relocate to Thetis Island from Chemainus. It is our hope to find a place on the island with some more property for our family to continue to grow in, and a community for us to be involved with.

Our homeschooling family spends our time biking, exploring nature, volunteering (before COVID) and growing food.  Our five kids range in age from 2 – 13 and have always been active in their communities.

We have been looking for a place for quite some time, but the right property has not come our way. If anyone is looking to downsize, we would love to be able to chat.

If you are wanting to still live in the area, we currently own a very cute house with a lot of productive gardens on Fir Street in Chemainus. We would love to start the conversation with anyone who may be looking at selling. We are over on Thetis three days a week right now as our two oldest are currently involved in Project Regeneration with ThINC.

Cleaning and Moving Back into Forbes Hall Community Centre

A huge thank you to the intrepid crew of 10 who turned out to clean over 3 days, and the 25 people who emptied the two Sea-Cans back into the hall, in just a few minutes short of three hours on Saturday, all while wearing masks and physically distancing!

The weather was on our side for the move, and it was definitely helpful that the new building has so many doors to the outside.  Thank you to the cleaners to making them all sparkle…

Next job is rebuilding storage shelving, putting up the shelves in the library, and getting the beverage station sorted, but you can all sit on your laurels for now.

Your contribution is what makes this island the amazing place it is!

Cherryville Loom Looking for a New Home

Is there anyone on the island who would use a large floor loom?

After more than 5 years of retirement I am ready to admit I will not be resuming this hobby. If you or a weaver you know on south VI is interested in acquiring a counterbalance loom built in Cherryville in the mid-70’s, please email Colleen Stewart  cfcstewart@gmail.com

Used for a few years, carefully packed away in my Victoria home for many years.

Liftgate for Sale

The TIVFD have a Maxo truck liftgate, capacity 3000 lbs, for sale for $3000. 

This was removed from the Ryder truck purchased to replace the cab and chassis of the water tender.  If you know of anyone who might be able to use it, let us know.  Or if you have any ideas on where to advertise it.  We have tried Kijiji, CraigsList and TruckTrader's Facebook Marketplace with no luck so far.

TICA/TIRRA Membership for 2021

The TICA/TIRRA 2021 membership renewal forms have been sent out to all 2020 TICA/TIRRA members. If you paid by etransfer could you please submit the form as I have found that there have been some changes in the information for 2021. I need the forms in order to input your information into the excel database.
