Looking For Small Pottery Items Firing Services

I’m looking for a place where my small pinch pottery items could be fired.

Thought maybe someone on the island have a kiln and willing to fire few bowls, plates and mugs occasionally for a fee?

I’m using “Plainsman” M340GS (medium temperature, lightly grogged buff burning stoneware, manganese granular speckle added) clay and “Plainsman” cone 6 base.

Call, text or e-mail works for me! Thank you

Thank you to all whom decorated our fire hall for the holiday season.  Please drive by at night to get the full effect.  Special thanks to Ann and Bill Dickie.

The simple pleasure of bundling into the car and slowly driving our island roads in search of cheerful Christmas lights seems more important this year than in the past.  Please have a safe and happy holiday season.

Best wishes from Jeannine, Peter, Dave, Chad, John, Chris, Jeffrey, Johnny, Brian, Pierre, Yuka, Marjan, Julian, Grant, Quinn and Tim.

26 Weeks to Emergency Preparedness

To help you accomplish this, Cowichan Valley Emergency Management published an Emergency Preparedness Workbook available online at:

https://www.cvrd.ca/DocumentCenter/View/84184/MIECM-Emergency-Preparedness-Workbook---2017?bidId=

The " 26 Weeks " segment is a mere two pages of the workbook that is full of valuable information and worth reading all the way through. Copies are also available from your LERN captain.

Week 6 Task: Stock your home with several varieties of canned and non-perishable food and dried fruit. Include a manual can opener. Plan for at least a seven day supply for each family member (see pages 8 & 9 of the guide).

Your ESS Team, wishing you Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and good health and safety in the New Year,
