The Thetis Island Firefighters’ Society is offering six cleverly reworked fire extinguishers made into hanging doorbells/garden decorations. They are complete with TIVFD or TIVFS logos. These can be viewed through the window of the fire hall.
We propose to offer these items to the highest bidders who will also in addition receive tax receipts for their donations.
The bells will go to the six highest bids received by the end of this month.

In our work with VIHA, we are trying to determine which practitioners it would be best to spend resources and time researching their availability.
This Google survey will help direct the teams’ efforts.

Hello Thetis Islanders,
In celebration of ThINC’s 10-year anniversary we are beginning a new tradition: newsletters! Our newsletter, ‘The Ripple’, will serve to keep you up-to-date on what ThINC is up to and share ways in which Thetis Islanders can engage.
Why The Ripple you might ask? Well, let me tell you! A ripple is a natural phenomenon that can be observed throughout the natural world, from waves on sand dunes and wind rippling through the trees, to the most obvious, rings spreading on the surface of water. A ripple can also symbolize cause and effect; specifically, how our actions impact the environment. The ThINC ripple stands as a reminder of this, and how it is in our power to gently affect change.
Our inaugural issue, ‘10 Year Anniversary: How We’ve Grown’ (link below) shares the story of ThINC’s beginnings and growth in an article written by Ann Eriksson as well as a (rather condensed) timeline that highlights major events from the last decade.
Each issue of The Ripple will include a ‘Super Steward’ section that recognizes Thetis Islanders who are, as the name suggests, admirable stewards of the land and/or who are doing what they can to make Thetis Island a more robust and resilient place. For this, we welcome nominations for the Super Steward section for future issues!
Best to all in 2022,
Charlotte

Hello Thetis!
I have just taken a position with BC Ferries and will be based on Thetis. I am looking for a little cabin, suite etc. preferably wifi and pet friendly as I have a little cat who “may” accompany me from time to time. I am a very clean, respectful, friendly person and will go out of my way to leave things in perfect shape. I am also open to a “house sitting” situation and am very open to discuss.
Please email me if you would like to discuss an option. It’s very difficult to find something to n Thetis right now.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

We are pleased to announce that the Charities Directorate of the Canada Revenue Agency has granted ThINC charitable status. This means we can offer official tax receipts for charitable donations that further our conservation, stewardship and community food security work. It is also helpful for grant applications and other conservation business.
Donations can be made through CanadaHelps.org for an immediate tax receipt. A donation button is also provided on our website menu. Our business number is 85219 6047 RR0001. As there is a processing fee through Canada Helps, for large donations please contact us directly. Donations (minimum of $25) can also be made by cheque mailed directly to ThINC at PO Box 13-3, Thetis Island, BC, V0R 2Y0 or by e-transfer to info@thetisislandnatureconservancy.org. We'll send out tax receipts each January. Our work is dependent on the generosity of members, donors and granting agencies, for which we are always grateful.
Thank you!
