Thank you all who came out for the Sunday, BC Day parade…those who made the great entries and those who energetically applauded them as they passed by (twice!). We had fun and Sparky had fun and I hope you all had fun.

Potential Heavy Ferry Traffic Monday Morning, August 2nd

Ferry traffic will be heavy for passengers AND vehicles from Penelakut and Thetis Island starting with the 6:10 AM sailing Monday August 2nd, as islanders travel to support the Penelakut tribe in the March for Children.
 
The March is scheduled to leave the Salish Sea Market at 9 AM.

Nature House Module 6: Kelp! I've fallen and I can't get up!

Join us this coming week (August 6-7) as we take a deep dive into exploring the seaweed on Thetis Island! Our activities will include an interactive look into the seaweed food web and its importance in our ecosystems.

We will also take a hands-on approach to discovering how unique seaweed is as a building block and a home to all marine life. This will involve exploring the environment through a tidal walk and / or snorkelling (depending on tides).

If this sounds like something for you, come and learn about this vital ecosystem with the team!

Wanted: Plywood Offcuts

I'm installing several shallow skylight wells, and need pieces of pretty much any grade of  3/8" or 1/2" plywood. Some pieces are fairly small, and need to be at least 22.5" wide. 
(approx. sizes: 22.5" x 26", 22.5" x 20", 46" x 26")

Will pay cash at about 1/3 the price of new, depending on condition.

This is why you've been saving those little bits and pieces for years. Let me relieve you of the burden of this clutter and save myself a few bucks and a trip to the big island at the same time. :)
